NATURAL STONE
Used for centuries, natural stone is beautiful, durable and thoroughly unique. While slightly more difficult to maintain than ceramic or porcelain, it makes an undeniable difference in your home and is worth the extra effort. Straight from the earth, each type of stone has its own unique visual appearance. Our designers can help you create the perfect look for your home, from clean patterns with uniform-sized tiles to more elaborate patterns customized for each room. Natural stone should be sealed after installation and then again every 12 – 18 months.
Types of Natural Stone
MARBLE
Marble is softer and more porous than most stones. It can be frequently enhanced by polishing to maintain its high gloss.
TUMBLED MARBLE AND TRAVERTINE
This beautiful stone has a matte finish and irregular edges as a result of processing. It comes polished or
unpolished. The unpolished version
decreases the risk of slipping and
makes scratches less obvious.
SLATE
Slate is characterized by dramatic, clefted layers and a broad range of colors within each piece. It is commonly used for both interior and exterior flooring.
LIMESTONE Interesting and extremely durable, this stone is seeing a revival on floors, entries and walkways, as well as walls and countertops.
